Green Building Financial Incentive Programs

Energy Smart Loan Program

Program is on only effective until July 31, 2009

Generally provides an interest rate reduction of 4% less than participating lenders normal market rate for up to 10 years

     -Up to $20,000 for residential family homes of 1-4 units

     -Con Edison customers may be eligible for a 6.5% reduction

     -This loan can be used for wind and solar installations and materials

Solar Electric Incentive Program

Applications will be accepted through September 30, 2009, or until funds are fully committed

This program "buys down" the initial cost of the solar system by up 45%. 

     -The savings are passed on to the eligible installers, for a list of installers click here

 

Small Wind Incentive Program

This benefit will provide financial incentives to install small wind turbine systems that tie into the grid.  

     -The amount of money you received is based on the model type, kilowatts, and tower height.

Green Building Tax Credit

     -Dept of Environmental Conservation Program

     - Residential multi-family buildings that have at least 12 units having at least 20,000 square               feet of interior space

     - Residential multi-family buildings, at least 2 units, part of single or phased construction, with          at least 20,000 square feet of interior space, provided at least 10,000 square feet is under            construction or rehabilitation in any single phase

 

NY State Solar Sales Tax Exemption

This exempts sales tax on the sale and installation of solar energy systems

 

Energy Star Rebate Program

Applies to certain appliances, home electronics, heating and cooling, etc

     -This is a federal Program
